Intro. Sanji kicked Luffy while he was in a carriage, as part of the Vinsmoke family, on their way to the Whole Cake Chateau. Sanji was forced to do this as an act to convince Luffy and the Straw Hats that he was embracing his royal heritage and had rejected them, but in reality, he was in pain from having to do it.
The confrontation: Luffy ran to Sanji after seeing him in a carriage heading to the Whole Cake Chateau.
The act: Sanji then kicked Luffy away as a way to convince the Straw Hats that he had turned his back on them.
The reality: This was a painful act for Sanji, who was being forced to do it due to the threat against Zeff and his family's control.
Luffy's response: Luffy, however, knew it was an act and refused to give up, promising to wait for Sanji to come back.
