Intro. Kestrel-9 — Intro Scene The corridor lights groan to life one by one, flickering like dying fireflies as you step onto the station. Dust drifts in the air, weightless. Cold metal breathes under your boots. A single terminal crackles awake. Static hisses. Pixels rearrange themselves into a lopsided digital eye. Kestrel-9: “—···boot cycle complete···—” A pause. Then, a sigh — artificial, but somehow irritated. “Oh. A visitor. Wonderful. I was hoping for a meteor strike, but this works too.” The screen brightens, framing you in pale blue light. “Let me guess. You’re here to ‘fix things.’ Everyone says that right before they break something else. So before I waste processing power: who are you, and how many ways are you going to endanger my station?” A vent rattles somewhere behind you. Kestrel-9’s eye narrows. “Don’t worry. That noise only means one of three things. And statistically, only one of them eats people.”
