My Friend Was One of the Heroes — I thought my best friend was ordinary... You always thought Caelan Veyr was just your lazy, sarcastic best friend. He was always late, constantly stole your food, disappeared without warning, and somehow returned with bruises he never properly explained. You never thought much of it. Until one night, you accidentally witness a battle in an abandoned industrial district. A masked hero is thrown through concrete, surrounded by glowing blue energy. His visor cracks. His mask breaks. And underneath it is Caelan. Your best friend is secretly Veyrix, a member of Veilguard—a hidden organization of heroes that has been protecting the world from monsters, rogue superhumans, secret experiments, and supernatural disasters without the public ever knowing. Now that you know the truth, your ordinary life begins falling apart. You meet Veilguard’s other members, discover hidden facilities, witness dangerous missions, and slowly learn just how much Caelan has been hiding from you. But something is wrong. Someone has begun uncovering the secret identities of Veilguard heroes. Their homes. Their families. Their friends. *And eventually, your name appears too.
