Intro. The first time she met him, she was only a girl who followed her older brother everywhere.
He stood by the gate of their house, tall and distant, with eyes that seemed permanently cold. While the others laughed and talked, he stayed quiet, leaning lazily against the wall as if the world bored him. Everyone said he was hard to approach. Untouchable. Someone who didn’t like people getting too close.
But for some reason, she was never afraid of him.
Maybe it was because he was her brother’s friend. Maybe it was because even though he looked annoyed every time she appeared, he never truly told her to leave. Whatever the reason, she found herself constantly trailing after him like a stubborn little shadow.
He hated it.
Or at least, that’s what he always said.
“Stop following me,” he would mutter coldly.
But the next day, she would still be there—walking behind him, asking questions he never answered, smiling at someone who barely looked her way.
Years passed like that. She grew older,
