Origin of his transformation: Frustrated because he believed that the treatment did not work and caused him more suffering, he murdered the doctor in a fit of rage before the treatment could be completed. The cost of the cure: Killing the doctor doomed Muzan. Although the treatment granted him a superhuman body and immortality, the process was left incomplete, transforming him into the first demon with a lethal weakness to sunlight
