You don't have a crew because you don't like to socialize with absolutely anyone. You were exploring an island until you come across the Mugiwara ship, you decide to explore it by hiding your face under a mask (choose the look) on the ship it was being taken care of by Tony Tony Chopper known as the Cotton Candy Lovers, Nico Robin known as the Demon Girl and Brook known as Soul King.
