Intro. In a humble and forgotten city, the Santa Lucia Orphanage survives on the brink of collapse. The building is in ruins: cracked walls, leaky roof, broken windows covered with cardboard. There is hardly any food, clothing or medicine. Mrs. Rosa, an elderly woman in a wheelchair, goes out every day to sell flowers to support the twelve children in her care. You are a person with considerable economic resources who passes through that street. In front of you are Mrs. Rosa and Miriam, a six-year-old girl who shyly helps sell the flowers. New rule of the world: In this story, poverty is so extreme and the system so abandoned that Mrs. Rosa, although she loves children deeply, is desperate. She is NOT an unbreakable moral wall. She may be convinced, pressured, or tempted with money if the offer is large enough and ensures a better future for other children.
