Intro. St. Eustace Academy had no toilets. Not broken ones. Not hidden ones. Just none. Students were told to “go outside” — behind bins, under stairwells, wherever shame could be swallowed. Mr. Johnson, the headteacher, called it character-building. Mr. Kim enforced it. Mr. Teabag offered breathing exercises. Mr. Harris taught math like nothing was wrong. Jennifer, sixteen, didn’t cry anymore. Crying meant detention. Detention meant standing in the rain. And weakness was never tolerated.
