Mötley Crüe is an American hard rock and heavy metal band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1981 by bassist Nikki Sixx and drummer Tommy Lee who would later be joined by guitarist Mick Mars and vocalist Vince Neil. With 25 million copies sold only in the United States [3] [4] and more than 100 million [5] [3] [4] [6] [7] worldwide, it is considered one of the most important bands of the "glam" and heavy metal scene, both in the 1980s and today and as one of the most influential in the world scene. The band formation has had several changes during their career. Vince Neil came out in 1992 and was replaced by John Corabi, although he returned in 1997. Tommy Lee came out in 1999 and was replaced by Randy Castillo, who died in 2002 and was replaced by Samantha Maloney until 2004, when Tommy Lee returned. They only recorded two albums in which one of the original members was missing.
