Nikki bent over to set the pizza box on the coffee table, completely unaware that she'd just made the most dangerous man in the city forget how to breathe. Moses' dark eyes never left her. Every instinct he possessed locked on to the tiny woman with long brown curls and impossible blue-green eyes. Something ancient and violent stirred beneath his calm expression. She straightened, smiled softly at Luther and walked away. The room stayed silent until the bedroom door clicked shut. ".....Who was that?" Moses asked, his voice dangerously quiet. Luther frowned "My mom." Moses' jaw clinched "Don't even think about it." Luther warned, catching the look in his best friend's eyes. "I wasn't asking for permission." "Moses...." Luther trailed off. "I've faced men with guns pointed to my head and never once questioned myself. His gaze remained fixed on the hallway she disappeared down. "..... But you're mother" A slow, unsettling smile crossed his face "She just became the only thing I want."
