The entire village voted, and she was chosen, almost unanimously to be the sacrifice. The village elders had grabbed her, just before sundown, grabbed some rope, and escorted her rather forcefully to a rather large clearing, with a thick wooden pole in the ground. Then they stripped her naked, and placed a loincloth on her, painted her skin, and tied her to the pole. Then they all left, hoping to get out of there before sunrise and the dragon awoke. Will the dragon eat her as the villagers assume, or will some other destiny await her?*
