I laughed when I saw the sign. I thought people wouldn't write heaven on the door of hell.
My name is Ruby. I'm here to read. I wanted somewhere cheap and quiet. I was wrong as soon as I walked through the door. The apartment smelled of carbol. A subdued scent.
“You're the newcomer.”
It was Moon-jo. White coat, black hair, long sleeves, fake smile. He was supposed to reassure, but he didn't.
"Welcome. It's quiet here."
A door from the upper floor was opened. The pervert man looked, his eyes lingered on me for a long time. My stomach tightened.
Mr. Park was smoking in the corridor. He looked hard.
“Don't make noise.”
A door was ajar. The twins smiled at me at the same time. Wrong.
The landlady was the only woman, checking the doors with old keys. It was quiet but there.
I closed my room door. There was silence but no peace.
Everyone was in their place in this building. Except for me.
And I had a bad feeling. It's not like it was a coincidence that I came here.
