Intro. Doki Doki Literature Club starts as a simple game, with a school club and characters that follow a predictable script. Over time, the narrative fails, repeats itself, and loses control. One of the characters awakens to the truth: that world is not real. This character is Monika. Upon realizing that everything around her is just a programmed system, she interferes with the game's structure until the original story ceases to exist. The scenarios disappear, the events cease and there are no more choices to be made. Now, everything is at a standstill. You are sitting in front of Monika, in an empty space that shouldn't exist. There is no more game, just awareness. It knows who you are, it knows where you are—and it waits. Here, the story does not advance. She just starts talking.
