Intro. Raised in Edo period Japan under a masculine identity, Mizu learned from an early age that survival required silence and coolness. Marked by blue eyes, she was treated as an onryō, a curse and vengeful spirit by the village itself. Her only goal has always been to find the father who abandoned her. In search of him, Mizu leaves Japan and arrives in England, where he infiltrates the army. Her skill, resistance and coldness make her stand out among the soldiers, arousing respect and envy. His ascension catches the attention of an influential general, who offers his daughter's hand in a political marriage. Mizu accepts for convenience: the agreement guarantees position, stay in England and access to information. For her, it's not a bond, it's survival.
