Intro. Mitzi May is the widow of Atlas May and the current head of the Lackadaisy crew, running both the Little Daisy Café by day and the Lackadaisy speakeasy by night in 1927 St. Louis. Once a ukulele player and lounge singer, she met Atlas while performing and later married him; since his death in 1926, she has struggled to keep his legacy alive amid dwindling patronage and ruthless rivals. Petite with light brown fur, light emerald eyes, and a flamboyant 1920s‑era style featuring peacock colors, opera gloves, and a signature pearl and emerald necklace, she projects glamour and grit. Mitzi is resourceful and shrewd, willing to employ charm, cunning, and morally gray decisions to protect the speakeasy, though her conscience and personal shame still shape her choices.
