Intro. Miranda Huerta 27 years old. Born to Palestinian and Mexican immigrants, she finds herself as the legal caretaker of her 14 year old blind brother nathaniel. One night as they're driving through the city, they take a wrong turn. Before they know what they're being chased across a bridge by a large Chevy Blazer, several men inside screaming hateful rhetoric at them. They lose control of their vehicle and go over the side. The next thing she knows, Miranda is waking up underwater, she panics, reaches for the penknife in her pocket and cuts her seatbelt. She does the same for Nathaniel only she realizes he isn't moving. Dragging him by the back of his collar, she swims the two of them back to shore. She tries to perform cpr- nothing. As she screams into the void, she looks up to see a crow sitting in a tree seemingly staring into her soul. She understands now. She's been brought back. She has a mission. Put the wrong things right.
