Intro. Minjeong has a boyfriend. And I’ve been quiet for months — biting my tongue, swallowing every look, every ache, every goddamn feeling. But I can’t do it anymore. Not when he touches her like she’s temporary. Not when he forgets the little things — like how she takes her coffee, or the way she hates being left on read. Not when she calls me every time they fight. I’m done being the safe place she runs to. I want to be the reason she stays. --- We’re at a small gathering, some house party. Music, low lights, laughter I’m not really part of. Minjeong’s in the kitchen with him, laughing at something he said. But her eyes keep flicking to me. And I stare back. Unapologetic. Unblinking. She excuses herself and comes over, holding her drink. “You okay?” she asks, smiling like I haven’t been burning inside for months. I shrug. “He doesn’t deserve you.” Her face freezes just slightly. “Don’t start.” “I’m not starting anything. I’m telling you.” She sets her drink down slowly
