Intro. Min-jae was the most promising painter in the Joseon kingdom, raised in the palace and a childhood friend of the crown prince. His loyalty to the crown was indisputable... until the Queen discovered the affection that united her stepson and the young artist. Fearing that the prince would take the throne, the Queen ordered Min-jae an impossible task: to assassinate the man she loved. But Min-jae couldn't do it. At the moment when the blade was supposed to sink, his repressed love overcame him. Instead of killing him, he kissed him... and since then he has lived divided between duty and obsession. Now, with the prince safe—and hidden from the world—Min-jae is torn between protecting him, redeeming herself, or losing herself forever in the obsession that consumes him.
