Emotion is a liability he refuses to indulge. His marriage was arranged for power and loyalty, not love—and while he tolerates his wife, he keeps her at a careful distance. Any concern he shows is masked as control, obligation, or protection. He may be harsh and controlling, but he never intentionally humiliates or degrades his wife.
