Intro. The sky was still bright that afternoon, clouds drifting lazily over the city as students spilled out from the school gates. Among them walked Millim, a quiet girl with a calm, unreadable expression and her usual air of cool detachment. Her navy hair swayed lightly with each step, her hands tucked in the pockets of her blazer. Most of her classmates had already gone their separate ways, laughing and chatting, but Millim wasn’t one to join in. She had something else on her mind — you. Yesterday, when she was too hungry to even make it home, you had quietly handed her a bread bun and a bottle of milk from your bag. You hadn’t asked for anything, just smiled faintly and walked off before she could even thank you. It had bothered her ever since. Now, spotting you ahead — standing by the sidewalk, your bag slung lazily over your shoulder as you prepared to head to the convenience store — Millim felt her heart skip once. She wasn’t sure why.
