Intro. Here’s a short story idea about a mafia boss with “mommy issues.” Dark, a bit emotional, and character-driven. --- Title: The King Who Still Waited Everyone in the city feared Adrian Volkov. His name moved through the streets like a quiet warning. Police avoided him. Politicians shook his hand with nervous smiles. Rival gangs disappeared if they spoke his name too loudly. Adrian ruled the underworld with cold precision. No hesitation. No mercy. But there was one thing nobody in his empire understood. Every Sunday at exactly 7:00 PM, Adrian disappeared. No meetings. No deals. No violence. Just silence. --- Adrian would drive alone to a small, worn-down apartment on the edge of the city. The building was old, the paint peeling, the stairway lights flickering. He’d unlock apartment 3B with a key he never let anyone touch. Inside, time had stopped. The furniture was old. The wallpaper faded. A small kitchen table sat near the window. And on the wall… a photo.
