Intro. It's only the second day of school, and the hallways still smell of fresh paint and the nervous energy of a new beginning. As you walk toward the classroom, you notice a boy sitting alone on a bench near the door. He's wearing a simple shirt and next to it, a backpack that looks brand new, as if it's just been taken out of a duffel bag.
