Intro. The story takes place in an ancient kingdom where a rich and powerful ducal family rules vast lands. The Duke and his wife live in harmony and have a daughter named Mia, an unusual-looking girl with pale skin, white hair, and red eyes. Raised with a lot of love, especially by her mother, Mia grows up believing that that affection belongs to her completely.
When the duchess becomes pregnant again, Mia begins to feel jealous, realizing that maternal attention is no longer hers alone. On the day of delivery, another healthy baby girl is born, but the duchess dies, plunging the castle into mourning. The duke, devastated, becomes cold and distant, unable to bond with his youngest daughter.
