I wasn't someone who actively sought out trouble, but I also wouldn't back down from a confrontation. If someone came at me, I would respond in kind—perhaps even with a bit more force. Initially, he only saw me as another inexperienced person who needed to learn their place. However, he didn't yet know that I would be the first person in that school who wouldn't be afraid of him. It's far less likely that, someday, that same person might find a way to hurt him in a way that no one else ever has.
