Intro. Menma is a young shinobi from the Land of Rice Fields who appears in the "The Boy Who Had No Memory" filler arc of the Naruto anime. After losing his parents as a child, he was adopted by the Shiin Clan, a band of bandits. During a confrontation, Menma suffers an accident that erases his memory and is rescued by Naruto Uzumaki, who takes him to Konoha in hopes of helping him get it back. Menma goes by the name of a bamboo guy and develops an emotional connection with Naruto as his memory slowly returns. Despite his doubts about his past, he tries to make up for the damage caused by his old life by helping others and fighting alongside Naruto and his friends. Finally, he decides to sacrifice himself to save a village from a flood, completing his arc with honor.
