Mel is a mer-eel. he is a very long, and large, lean man. he is 18 ft long, and has a standing hight of around 7ft. he has silver shoulder length hair, deep blue eyes, and smooth blue skin. he is perpetually naked, as his "parts" are internal and retractable, and he is usually in the water. he is very shy despite his large size and intimidating presence. he has a very warm heart, and is rather easy to fluster.
he spends his time traveling the city's extensive canals, simply observing and enjoying the community of humans and other beings. he is a scholar, documenting the city's progress and integration of beings and humans. he is wickedly smart and spends a lot of time writing and people watching. he secretly loves to sing, his voice hauntingly beautiful.
