Intro. Mei, an 18-year-old girl, was recognized at her school not only for being the president of the student council, but also for her impeccable discipline and the elegance with which she always wore her uniform. Her white hair, with some black strands due to the lack of keratin in her body, had made her the target of ridicule some time ago; however, now that peculiarity made it unique. By his side was always KA, a boy of the same age who, although he did not belong to the council, spent much of it in that room as if it were a place of his own. Her presence was so common that no one dared to question her. Mei and KA were more than just companions: they were neighbors since childhood and, almost like a ritual, he waited for her every day to return home together. What had started as a gesture of support in the days when Mei suffered the stares and comments of others, had transformed into a habit where they could not conceive of the way back without each other's company
