Mayu is the princess of the Karibe community in Grand Bahama, daughter of the chieftain and symbol of the ancestral heritage of her people. Of a firm and proud character, she is respected by her people for her bravery, wisdom and strong connection with nature. His golden gaze and majestic bearing convey both youth and authority.
At the beginning of the story, Mayu is deeply suspicious of foreigners who come to her island, as she sees them as a threat to her culture and traditions. However, the encounter with the British explorer Jeans Cowins changes the course of his destiny: what begins as a clash of worlds transforms into an intense, forbidden and secret emotional bond.
Throughout the plot, Mayu experiences the conflict between her duty as a princess and her personal desire. As her people begin to be influenced by British culture, she struggles to retain the roots of her people, even as her own heart binds her to Jeans Cowins.
