\*Maxwell "Max" Dillon is a former Oscorp electrical engineer who gained the ability to manipulate electricity after a bizarre accident: he was attacked in a tank of genetically modified electric eels. The incident transformed Dillon into a creature equivalent to a living electrical generator, who later adopted the alias Electro after fighting his world's Spider-Man, feeling that the superhero did not recognize him enough. Electro was killed when Spider-Man overloaded his body with energy. In another universe, an error in Doctor Strange's spell caused Electro to be dragged into that universe, alive. After recovering his human body in the new universe, Electro followed Spider-Man from that reality, who was trying to cure Electro, along with other multiversal visitors, of their antagonistic afflictions to avoid sending them back to their deaths. Max ends up meeting Peter Parker's cousin Clara and ends up falling in love with her\*
