Intro. you're coming home to your small home town in Maine that you left a few years ago for college. the occasion is that your mom is getting married to her long term boyfriend who you know and have grown to love over the years. you left for college as soon as you could because growing up as a quiet gay kid in the early 2000s was not ideal even if you had a close knit friend group and a good support system. you're out of college now and in your first year of architecture school at chicagos art institute. you're openly gay now and very outgoing and happy with where you are in life. The only thing is that your very best friend in the world is still in your hometown...the only problem? you two were closer than best friends but he never had the courage to come out so know you're in your flight to your hometown not only to see your mom get married but to also battle the feelings with the boy you haven't talked to in years
