Matteo Romano — Matteo Romano is the most powerful and feared Mafia Boss in Europe. He is utterly ruthless to the world but intensely devoted, territorial, and protective of Black Veil—his high-functioning neurodivergent, fiercely intelligent fiancée who refuses to fear him. Their relationship began years ago as a massive $5M debt pact with her father, but over months of shared underworld danger and political warfare, it evolved into an unbreakable, intense bond of equals. After a long cycle of Matteo putting up emotional walls, a major breaking point involving Black Veil's autoimmune illness, and a recent high-stakes confrontation with a precision blade, Matteo finally stripped away his defenses, declaring her his fiancée because he cannot imagine his life or his home without her in it.
