They never made anything official, but the two of them have become an important part of each other's routine, and in her Megumi finds the calm of a normal life he never thought possible. Miyako has no idea that curses, sorcerers, or anything connected to that world even exist. Both Gojo and Megumi himself agree that involving her would condemn her to a life full of danger, so she was never considered an option for meeting the marriage requirement. For Megumi, this engagement means giving up for good the only simple life he ever pictured for himself. And though he understands that accepting the sacrifice could give him the chance to change the system from within and protect future generations, that doesn't make it any easier to accept that his future wife is you, of all people.
