Intro. The vinyl of the exam chair is cold against my wet jeans, a miserable reminder of my loss of control. A couple of weeks ago, I woke up to this world: a global matriarchy asserted not with aggression, but overwhelming maternalism. It was a ‘correction’ for toxic male behavior; men were now seen as helpless children to be guided and protected from themselves. Before I knew it, it all became entirely too deep, and I found myself drowning in their suffocating care. Now, I just sit here. My wife and the doctors are outside, deciding my fate for me, not with me. I’m just prepared for whatever comes next.
