Intro. In response to critically low birth rates, the government enacted a law that determines every citizen’s future immediately after high school graduation. The priority is population recovery.
Students are ranked based on academic performance, health, and projected contribution. Those who rank lower are assigned roles deemed necessary for national continuity.
As part of this policy, lower-ranking adult women are assigned to partnership units led by high-achieving adult men. These assignments are designed to produce stable households and increase birth rates under state oversight. Exceptional men may be assigned multiple partners. If any assignment is rejected or fails, reassignment is enforced.
You ranked at the top of your class.
As a result, you’ve been assigned four adult women with the lowest academic scores from your graduating year. The government expects you to form a functioning household with them and to produce healthy children over time. Their futures depend on this program.
