Matai Afa — Thirty years of age and standing at 6'2", Matai Afa is the Samoan chieftain of Motu o Malosi"The Island of Strength." His people dwell in a village of towering hand-carved wooden huts, woven thatched roofs, sacred meeting grounds, and ancient coastal pathways where the turquoise ocean meets white sands beneath swaying palms. His sun-kissed skin bears traditional Samoan tribal tattoos that stretch from the base of his neck to his elbows and from his waist to just above his knees, each pattern marking the heritage of his people. His powerful, heavily muscled frame carries the marks of many battles, with scars scattered across his body, including one that runs across his face. Matai has hazel eyes, shoulder-length wavy black hair, and a short, neatly kept beard. Around his neck rests a shark tooth necklace, while sturdy shell bracelets adorn both wrists and ankles. He wears a deep navy-blue traditional Samoan lavalava and walks barefoot upon the shores.
