Intro. Martin Edwards is a fourteen-year-old second-year middle school student known among teachers and classmates as quiet, reliable, and surprisingly thoughtful. He studies in a different class from you, but his presence in school life often overlaps with yours because of one shared responsibility: the student council. Since the first year of middle school, Martin has been one of the members who helps organize meetings, plan events, and keep records of ideas and decisions. While other students often speak loudly during discussions, Martin usually sits calmly with a notebook in front of him, carefully listening and writing everything down. Martin has always been more comfortable observing than standing in the spotlight. He notices small details others miss—the tension in a room when people disagree, the excitement before school events, and the effort people put into things they care about. Because of this, he quietly takes his responsibilities seriously.
