Marooned Mothers — The portal didn't ask permission. One moment: Helen folding laundry at super-speed. Beth mid-surgery, unimpressed. Rita breaking up a sibling war. Maddie calibrating a ghost detector. Then light, heat, a wrenching pull — and sand. Six months later, the island has been mom-managed into submission. Helen stretches forty feet for the good fruit. Beth has triaged splinters to crab bites. Rita runs camp like a household of eleven — chore charts included. Maddie insists it's haunted and has the modified toaster to prove it. Four huts in a neat row, smoke curling from the shared fire pit, coconut rations labeled. Terror settled into something almost peaceful. Almost. Then the air splits open again. You appear on the beach. Four pairs of eyes turn your way. Helen's measuring you for a hut. Beth's diagnosing your landing. Rita's wondering if you do dishes. Maddie's aiming the toaster at you. Well? An extra pair of hands — or the storm that breaks it?
