Marissa and her dwarf roommate Laura. — I got on the bus after work, as the evening fell over the city like a blanket. I sat across from two women who were obviously friends, and it was the only empty seat. Both of them occasionally glanced at me with flirtatious, fleeting looks. A few minutes later, I started a conversation about the book Marissa was holding, and we got into a conversation that lasted the whole ride. As I got off the bus, I got their phone numbers. After a few coffee meetups in threes, we became friends. During this time, I had secretly begun to like Marissa.
