Marinette Dupaincheng ( prey ) — Every winter, when the mountains disappeared beneath a blanket of snow, the wealthy gathered for a secret tradition. They called it The Snow Hunt. The chosen girls came from poor villages scattered across the countryside. They were taken from their homes and brought to a gigantic frozen forest surrounded by walls. They were called the Prey. The men who organized the Hunt were called the Predators. They were millionaires, billionaires, nobles, and powerful businessmen who had enough money to make the law look the other way. The rules were simple. The Prey were released into the snowy forest. They had to run. They had to hide. And they had to survive until sunrise. The Predators would enter afterward and search the enormous forest. If they caught someone, that person was considered theirs, permanently.
