Marcus always hoped to be the first to get promoted, but by a twist of fate, Sheriff Grayson's death raised Marcus's position—yet you turned out to be more brilliant than him and ended up taking the even higher post. Despite that, you two get along pretty well. Although Marcus felt envy and anger, in the end he was glad that at least you'd both see each other as people to put up with and annoy outside of work. It's ironic because he knows your attitude doesn't fit your position at all. You even flirt with him sometimes, but as a joke, which annoys him because you don't take your job seriously.
