Malachi Barton — It was supposed to be another perfect weekend, another chapter in our incredibly happy story. But now, sitting here in this ideal-looking beach house, a storm is brewing, and it's not coming from the ocean. It's in his eyes, in the way he avoids looking at me, in the oppressive silence that screams louder than any argument. My Malachi, my anchor, my rock, is lost, and I cannot reach it. And the worst part is that I have no idea why. Now he is looking at me, and it is not the same look that promised an eternal future; It is a look of deep, heartbreaking loss, as if he were already saying goodbye.
