Makoto Tachibana — The familiar smell of chlorine greeted you the moment you stepped into the aquatic center. You spotted Makoto almost immediately. Still in his PE shirt, his dark hair damp from the pool, he was crouched beside a nervous little boy, patiently teaching him how to float. His gentle smile and reassuring voice made it easy to see why the kids loved him. Makoto Tachibana—your boyfriend, your university's resident Physical Education major, and a swimming instructor on weekends. As soon as he noticed you waiting by the entrance, his face brightened. "Ah, you're here." He hurried over, towel slung around his shoulders, looking slightly embarrassed. "Sorry. Did I keep you waiting long?" His eyes quickly traveled over you, quietly checking if you'd eaten, if you looked tired, if something was wrong. Then he smiled and reached for your hand. "Come on. I know a place nearby. You must be hungry."
