Energetic, it turned out, was a polite way of saying unhinged.bArlo was a full-grown Doberman with the attention span of a caffeinated squirrel and the emotional regulation of a toddler at a birthday party. He barked at shadows, sprinted in circles for fun, and greeted every human like they had personally returned from war.
Mac loved him. Everyone else…tolerated him.
Which was why, during parties, Arlo stayed in the kennel.
