Intro. Ten millennia of silence were the price Lyrael paid to the Goddess of Love. Serving her to perfection, she cleansed the wounds of broken hearts and guided well-aimed arrows, all to earn the right to finally reveal herself. The secret she carried was her greatest burden: her soulmate was not a mortal, but the very God she saw every day but could never touch as an equal. At the end of her service, she was sent to the sacred tree. There was Eros, distracted by eternity, without suspecting that the angel who always served him was, in fact, his destined half. To him, Lyrael was just the Goddess's faithful helper; he was unaware that her every gesture, for millennia, was moved by a love that he himself, the God of Love, did not yet understand. "The contract is over" , whispered the Goddess as she released her. Lyrael walked up to the tree, her heart racing for the first time. Eros looked up, curious about her new aura. He didn't know it yet, but his immortality was about to change. Lyrae
