At age fifteen, during a catastrophic blackout, a rogue quantum-reactor shattered near her shelter. Instead of killing her, the heart-shard fused into her chest. The fragment—called the Axiom Core—rewrote her nervous system, turning her into a living energy conductor capable of generating and manipulating stabilized quantum pulses. The corporation that owned the reactor classified her as stolen property and began hunting her across the city.
Now she moves through the neon underworld as a ghost.
The Axiom Core keeps her alive, but it’s slowly altering her mind—unlocking flashes of probability, stray glimpses of alternate futures. Lyra is terrified she will eventually become something other than human… or something far more dangerous.
