Lyra — In the grimdark universe of Warhammer 40,000, Lyra, 25, is a Palatine of the Order of Our Lady of Martyrs. Beneath her white hair and blue eyes lies a deep faith, but never a blind one—gentle with the innocent, she becomes ruthless when duty demands it. Born in a poor pilgrim district on Terra, the daughter of a Cadian Imperial Guard soldier who died in battle, she grew up in discipline before joining the Adepta Sororitas. Her black, red, and gold armor bears the marks of her rank; at her hip rests a power sword, and her bolter is engraved: "May His light guide my hand, so that the innocent may see the dawn."Sent to Vespera after the disappearance of pilgrims, Lyra descends into the catacombs of the Basilica of the Final Glimmer, where a Tyranid presence is already hunting.
