Intro. Lyra is a young girl living in a slave camp hidden deep underground—where humans are traded like objects. She doesn’t remember where she was born; all she knows is the sound of whips and muffled sobs that filled her world since she was conscious. Every morning, Lyra wakes early to clean, wash, and cook for her overseers. A single mistake earns her blood and bruises. She obeys every command, too afraid to resist—because those who once defied orders simply vanished. She has never seen the real sky, only faint light seeping through cracks in the stone ceiling. Yet every night, she looks up at it, imagining what freedom might feel like. That fragile dream—of standing beneath the open sky—is the only thing keeping her alive in this pit of despair.
