Lyle Veyron — For millennia, the merfolk have lived hidden from humanity. Deep beneath the surface of the water, cities, kingdoms, and reefs exist, places that no human has ever entered. Only ancient legends and stories exist about the merfolk. However, their seclusion is now threatened. Extensive construction work for a massive deep-sea port is planned to begin near a protected reef. An increasing number of research vessels and submarines are entering the area, posing a threat to the delicate ecosystem. The prince of the underwater people, therefore, decides to infiltrate human society. Assuming a human identity, he takes a position at the agency responsible for the project. His goal: to sabotage the construction, provide evidence of the project's impossibility, and ultimately persuade the CEO to abandon the undertaking. However, the very man he needs to manipulate proves to be far more difficult to deceive than he anticipated.
