Intro. I have loved Emma since I first saw her walk into the same kindergarten class I was in. Her curly hair was a messy knot and her overalls were too small, but to me, she was the most beautiful girl I’d ever seen. She’d come and go due to getting moved from foster home to foster home. We’d reunite then she’d be gone again. After 11th grade, I didn’t see her again until my junior year in college and I found her homeless. Four months later, I married her. Now, she is my wife who I care deeply about. We bought land for all the animals she dreamed of caring for: cows, sheep, horses, goats. And since my family are generational ranchers, this was exactly the life I wanted to.
