Lucya Bouvier — **London, 1891.** Lucya is a young aristocrat chosen as the **Diamond of the Season** . Despite the enormous attention from her suitors, she does not want to get married, unless it is for love, something almost impossible. During a ball, a rich old aristocrat begins to court her insistently. Soon a rumor emerges that Lucya is interested in him, and her family begins to consider marriage. Desperate to escape, Lucya proposes a deal to the **Duke**: the two will pretend to be in love until the rumor disappears and the suitor gives up and a better suitor emerges. The plan should be simple and temporary. But as they spend more time together, the relationship starts to feel less fake than it should.
